  Finding Employment
Whether you are still in school or a recent graduate, finding a job that matches your wants and needs can be a stressful process.  This page is designed to help in accessing resources provided on the internet.  Use it as a first-stop for your job-hunting needs.

On the right are links to websites that have listings for jobs.  There are also links to guides on "how-to's" for job hunting (e.g., how to write a resume, how to interview successfully, how to network, etc.).

A particular website that seems to have a lot of useful information for Ph.D. students (and those considering pursuing a Ph.D.) is called Re-envisioning the Ph.D. (University of Washington).  If you click on the link, it will lead you to their "Obtaining Employment" page, which lists many resources for doing just that.  The main website, however, has links that are also of interest.

If you need help with resume/CV writing, check out this link to FriedSocialWorker.com for examples.  The Chronicle of Higher Education also posts articles with advice on crafting CVs (just use the search feature and the keyword "CV" or variations).

LCSW

There is a website called Social Work Examination Services, that provides services for those who want to study for the licensing exams.  This is not necessarily a recommendation of the site, but it has a page on ther that is a list of links to all the state licensing boards for the LCSW (click on the above highlighted link for that page).  By clicking on the state, you will be directed to that state's licensing board website, where you can learn about their particular licensing requirements.  You can also get this information from the Association of Social Work Boards website.  On the bottom right of the page there is a scroll-down menu called "jurisdications"; you can pick the state and it will give you information about that state's licensing requirements as well as a link to that state board's page.
